Children’s Reading Experiences workshop

WONDRE hosted an international research workshop on children’s reading experiences. Scholars from six countries took part alongside an award-winning children’s nonfiction author.
On Wednesday, 17 September, Anežka Kuzmičová and Markéta Supa convened a face-to-face workshop with reading scholars Louise Couceiro (Oxford), Macarena García-González (Pompeu Fabra), Chin Ee Loh (NIE Singapore), Sarah McGeown (Edinburgh) and Sarah Bro Trasmundi (Southern Denmark).

At the workshop, which ran back-to-back with the 2nd International Children and Youth Perspectives Conference, the strongly international and interdisciplinary group made plans for a collective publication and met with a local special guest, award-winning children’s nonfiction author Magda Garguláková, who shared her authoring practices and views of children as autonomous readers.
