We welcome Michelle David, visiting from the University of Southern Denmark, as a temporary member of our team. Michelle’s research focuses on cognitive ethnography and deep reading.

We are excited to be hosting Michelle David from the University of Southern Denmark as a visiting researcher for two weeks in May. Michelle’s ongoing doctoral project is a cognitive ethnographic study investigating how students aged 10 to 14 engage in deep reading across different school contexts. Her work brings together close observation of classroom practices with broader questions about how young readers make meaning, reflect, and connect with texts in a rapidly changing educational landscape.

During her visit, Michelle will explore how WONDRE’s creative tools for engaging with young readers can offer her new insights into children’s personal reading experiences and enrich her future work on the cognitive and emotional dimensions of reading. Welcome, Michelle!
