What makes some children indulge in reading space encyclopaedias or football player biographies? And how can we best incorporate nonfiction reading in school-based learning and open it up for children who cannot access such books elsewhere? These are just some of the questions that Anežka Kuzmičová from the Faculty of Arts of Charles University, also recipient of last year’s Neuron Prize, will address in a five-year project that has just received funding from the European Research Council (ERC).
